This is witchcraft. I’ve never had glitter polish come off so easily. Looks a bit odd but who cares.
I wish my brain was explainable in a diagram. But sadly it is more like a tangled ball of wool.
Paige Bradley created one of the most striking sculptures I’ve seen in recent times. Her masterpiece, entitled Expansion, is a beautiful woman seeking inner piece but fractured and bleeding with light. “From the moment we are born, the world tends to have a container already built for us to fit inside: a social security number, a gender, a race, a profession,” says Bradley. “I ponder if we are more defined by the container we are in than what we are inside. Would we recognize ourselves if we could expand beyond our bodies?”
A lot of people say the sciences and art can’t friends. I disagree, you just have to look at a cell pattern through a microscope or the spectrum of light through a prism or even a well thought out diagram and there is art.
IT’S FINALLY FINISHED. I could faint, really, I could. This is all the images i’ve made bar two because of the photo limit on here…
My brain has been on loan to this project for the last month and a bit and though I loved it to pieces, i’m so happy that it’s over and done with.
Feminist Webs asked me to contribute some illustrations for their new women’s self defence booklet which is super exciting. I love working for the organisation and I also love all the opportunities that come with that! The content of the book was put together by women who attended weekly self defence classes (run by Fem Webs) focusing on what they had learned while attending the sessions and other information they felt women should know about self defence and keeping safe. They wanted the book to be ‘urban’ as it will be distributed around the country, but is mainly aimed at women who live in Hulme.
I love this.
How is it my craft materials all live in boxes yet are less organised than when they weren’t?
Why do I can’t I stay focused on one project. I have four that I’m doing at the moment, one I’m just beginning and two more I’m waiting on bits for.
How can my holiday be next week. I don’t understand. I haven’t bought any tickets and have no confirmed plans.
I don’t think I like the “Just see what happens”/”I’ll be at x, at x time if you wanna come too” way of planning.
I am trying to figure out if these are “Fabulously Glittery” or “Hideously Glittery”.
